One Man’s Rubbish

I sent an email to all UCC staff before Christmas asking people to donate their old unused mobile phones to The Jack and Jill Foundation. There is of course an added incentive of being entered into a draw for some new gear from Damien. The response has been fantastic and this is a quick post to say thanks! I am in talks with Jack and Jill about a collection for next week, so I hope to have most phones collected by then. We are also discussing the possibility of having a drop off box located somewhere on UCC campus that staff and students can drop their old phones into. If you have an old phone please feel free to contact me here.

yourOldPhonesThanks

Also note from the Jack and Jill site:

We’re not fussy!
. We’ll take any make and model of mobile phone regardless of condition

. All makes and models of digital cameras

. And all brands of ink cartridge except Epson

    Good work Joe :)

  2. Hi Joe, I did try to set up a phone collection box in the student centre previously but was told people might mess about with same, help themselves etc. and that it would not work, so best wishes with same

  3. As far as I remember, there used to be a Jack & Jill collection box in the lobby of the O’Rahilly Building. That was a while ago; I’m not sure if it’s been taken away since.

  4. Cheers Grainne :)
@am I think you could be right
@Dave There was a box for another charity company that are no longer around. The box was mainly filled with chargers, but there were some phones in it too. Thanks.
